I wonder what would happen if I livestreamed runs in New York?

What is it?

An impulse experiment to see what would happen if my friend and I livestreamed our daily runs in manhattan with historical commentary on the places that we run past. The MVP was creating a periscope and meerkat account and embedding it into a website while I streamed our runs by strapping my iphone to my head. Afterwards we would post the map of our runs to give our viewers context.

Overall we ran this experiment 3 times and iterated on details such as iphone placement (chest vs forehead), length of runs and amount of commentary. We ended up gaining a following in dublin and would have between 40-100 people join our livestreams based on which platform we used.

Where did the idea come from?

Running with my friend is always incredibly interesting and we were curious to see if people would want to view content like this. We sunsetting the experiment after meerkat shutdown.
